Faculty and Staff –
Here we go again...for the second consecutive year, the Teacher Center budget has been completely eliminated by Governor Paterson. The only reason why Teacher Centers are offering services this school year is because of the lobby efforts of NYSUT’s leadership and members along with Federal funding from ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act).
So, here is how you can help: Here are the directions:
2) In the upper left corner, click on Fax Your New York State Legislator 3) The next screen gives you a list of letters from
which to choose. There is an option so that you can preview each letter. 4) Select Restore Funding to Teacher Centers AND Restore K-12 Proposed Budget Cuts 5) Click on Add to My Faxes 6) In the upper left corner, click on Fax Your U.S. Legislator 7) Select: Support the Education Jobs Fund and Extend FMAP 8) Click on Add to My Faxes (You will be able to see all three faxes that you selected in the upper right corner of the screen.) 9) Click on Send My Faxes (there is a button at
the top and the bottom of the screen--use either) 10) Fill in your ZIP Code, press return 11) This screen shows all of your NYS and US elected officials. Click on the box next to each name. 12) Scroll down and fill in your personal information. 13) Press the send faxes button. (I literally just sent my faxes...it took 3 minutes! Thanks in advance!!)
Your participation is critically important to restore funding for all school districts and programs.

A few new things to consider:
Looking to Convert YouTube clips to DVD?? The Teacher Center can help!
 1. You can email the YouTube URL address - and we'll do it and we'll send it back to you.
2. You can email the YouTube URL addresses - and we can burn it down to DVD so you don't have to worry about the availability of the clip next time or the Internet not working properly.
3. The Teacher Center has a "Filter-Free" Zone. Please call or email Carol Montanari or Paul Szymendrea in the TC for help. |

Hopefully, you will find this new form easier to use when you need something cut out As always, send a completed form to the Teacher Center and we will send you back your cut-out order. If you would prefer to have items cut on special paper, just send it over with your form. We do have a limited supply of various colors, but if you have a special request or a “grade-level” project, we would appreciate you sending paper.
I hope that by now you have seen the updated posters Carol made to show off our new cut-outs!
