Post your Wordle PDF's to the Teacher Center Webpage!

I am hoping that you will consider sharing your ideas so that other teachers in our district can learn from you.

As an added incentive, the Teacher Center will print a free 18 x 24ish Wordle for you if post your activity through our website between now and January 31st.

Please email pszymendera@shs.k12.ny.us and the Teacher Center will add it to our website.  Thanks!!

Here are two to get us started:  (can you tell I like the "Grilled Cheese" font??)

1.  Szymendera - Law & Society:  Grade 11-12

This wordle was used as part of an introduction to a unit on Human Rights.  The main idea was for students to consider words associated with Human Rights, select words of their choice, and to explain why each word was picked.  Students shared with each other and then had a chance to add to our wordle.

2.  Szymendera - Global Studies:  Grade 9

This wordle was used as part of a review from our Religion Unit.  The main idea was for students to create categories and find related words.  Students were then asked to choose three of their categories and write aparagraph for each explaing how the words were related to each other.

3.  Melissa Veronica
Since I deal with all areas of science in the AAC, I thought this was a creative way for me to show students how the sciences are all interconnected.

4.  Post Your Wordle Activity Here!

12409_121226_2.pngWordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.
